Why pool training?

Pools are complicated...

 Cleaning

You need to know how to set up a vacuum hose, how to get good suction from your pump, how to net efficiently, how to clean your filter and how often, and how to improve the efficiency of your skimmers to remove leaves on top of your water before they drop to the bottom. You also need to know how to remove algae and have it not come back

Chemistry

On the chemical side, things get even messier. Which test kit should I use? How to I accurately test the water? Is my chlorine and ph at a safe and effective level? What is alkalinity, anyways? The water smells like chlorine, but I’m getting a low chlorine reading – why? Why do my eyes sting when I swim, even if my chlorine level is good? Why does algae keep growing, even after I remove it? We answer all these questions and more for you, so next time you have them, you can answer them for yourself.

Troubleshooting

What if your pool is cloudy? It might be low chlorine, or a reaction to the way you added pH increaser, or your filter is dirty, or you have old sand, or… etc. Why do you not have good suction on your pool? The chlorine level is high, but your pool is still green – why?. Why is your pool is losing water? Being able to troubleshoot these problems is essential for trouble-free summers.

Expenses

Pools are relaxing and enjoyable, but when problems arise, they can really eat at your wallet. Algaecide is very expensive. Just one dose of good algaecide costs a fortune. If you make a mistake while vacuuming, you let too much air into your pump, you backwash incorrectly, the cost can be truly enormous. The good news is, these problems are easily avoidable! Of course, even well-maintained swimming pools are subject to the laws of nature, so problems will arise – but you must be able to minimize the problems that happen, and correct them quickly and efficiently when they do happen. We will teach you how to maintain a beautiful pool with the minimum chemical and equipment cost.
